Pete's spiritual life hit stride back in the late 1970's while attending Iowa State University in Ames. After committing his life to the Lord, he traveled east to the ultimate "den of iniquity" for any Iowa State grad -- the University of Iowa -- where he was involved in campus ministry. It was in Iowa City where Pete met Kurt Jurgensmeier, beginning their 20-year relationship of serving God together. Two events changed Pete's life in the mid-90's -- his marriage to wife Raylene, and becoming a pastor at New Life. Pete continues to work full-time for Rockwell Collins while serving the New Life family. He and Raylene have six children among them, including two still at home in Cedar Rapids. Pete loves pasta and lima beans, and like Kurt, pretends to play golf when the mood strikes. Pete is particularly passionate about helping New Life's teenagers deepen their relationship with Christ.
